U.S. premier performance!  Science fiction live theatre!  Cheap date!  One weekend only 9/26-29, Chicago area.

Hi folks, please repost this if you are so inclined.  You see, Moebius has Facebook users who think promoting a show on LiveJournal is like issuing a cast album on 8-track.  I would love to get an audience full of LJ users and prove them wrong.  -- Acme

My stageplay, with the title as stated above, will begin a four-performance run on September 26 at the Madison Street Theatre, 1010 Madison St., in Oak Park. Show times are 8 pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and 3 pm for the closing matinee on Sunday the 29th.

Tickets are $15 each, and are available online at reply.brownpapertickets.com

Katharine Zoe Graham is the director (sorry, Kate, I don't think I can umlaut your middle-name "o"). Beth Richards and I are the performers, Ralph Scotese is designing the set, Pete Pollack is the technical director, and Mike Brugioni is doing some of the art that goes into the slide presentation.  Moebius Theatre is producing the show.  This is the troupe's first appearance in a "legit" theatre in 29 years.  Please command us to break legs.

12:51 pm: Heh.
Just finished rereading _Bone Dance_.  In my prairie right now is growing a plant with twinned oval leaves climbing a wiry stem, and at the top an achingly magenta flower.

Maybe I need to make a colorway based on that for CONvergence.  "Sparrow's Catharsis?"

05:43 pm: American Craft Council Show
I have ONE free ticket for this show tomorrow.  It is at Rivercenter in downtown St. Paul and the stuff there ranges from very nice to OMFGAMAZING.  I am glad to offer it free to the first comer; I can't use it.

12:58 pm: I love my mom...
I really, really do.  But now I am supposed to take four days out of my life driving (to fetch her and return her) so that she can come up to the Cities and see her friends?  And if she is supposed to stay here exactly how am I supposed to find time to clean?

Auuuggghhhhhhh!!!!

08:41 pm: Celtic Festival at Fargo/Moorhead
My guy and I went up for this Friday afternoon and came back Saturday night.  There is a brief but sympathetic article here featuring a few remarks by G.  As usual, fun was had in this brief but high-energy festival.

05:37 pm: Huh.
So I thought I should try the Up Goer Five challenge:  This is what I do using only words from the ten hundred most commonly used words.  It makes me sad that yarn, thread, cloth, and fabric don't any of them make the cut, or wool or cotton or silk.  Heck, 'plants' isn't even in there.

I put beautiful color where there was only white.  I make what clothes are made of.  I make with sticks. I make with clothes stuff from animals and live not animals.

11:06 am: The rugs I made
Here is the first rug I made; it is a fairly formal pattern.  The white stripes are the lining and the brown is the drapes.

Rug2

The second one is more informal; I just went with random stripes.  I love them both, they are thick and stiff and just big enough to stand on when working at the sink or the stove.  (The perspective is off in these photos; they look longer than they really are.)

09:53 pm: Lookie!!!
So excited!  I just took my first rag rugs off the loom.  Old drapes and their linings, flax warp, twill weave.  Photos as soon as I get the fringes tied.  We needed new kitchen rugs quite desperately....
